DANIEL “BRAVEMONK” HAYWOOD is an artist, visionary, host/emcee, b-boy, choreographer, performer, and dance educator based in Chicago. As a cultural ambassador and leader in the Hip-Hop community he has regularly traveled throughout the US and internationally as a guest artist, choreographing, performing, hosting, judging, and teaching. His credits include danceGathering in Lagos, Nigeria, the International Cultural Festival of Contemporary Dance in Algiers, The Hip-Hop Theater Festival at the MCA, the movie Dreams released by Lionsgate Films and a feature in the anthology Black Theater Is Black Life: An Oral History of Chicago Theater and Dance, 1970-2010. As a Master of Ceremonies BRAVEMONK has kept the energy hype while managing the flow and vibe of large-scale events including: Red Bull B.C. One (Chicago Cypher 2014), Juste Debut U.S.A. Qualifiers in Washington, D.C. (2018 & 2019), and Red Bull Dance Your Style Chicago Qualifiers (2021 & 2022). BRAVEMONK is a member of Chicago’s legendary and internationally recognized breaking crew Phaze II Crosstown Crew (est. 1982), co-founding Artistic Director of BraveSoul Movement, a founding contributor and previous co-host of Power Style Radio. BRAVEMONK’s movement vocabulary is rooted in Original Manifestational “Black” American urban vernacular dance forms including Breaking, Hip-Hop social dances and House. He also draws on his training in martial arts and other embodied Afro-diasporic movement languages. BRAVEMONK is a 2017 recipient of the Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artist Award and is on faculty at the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and previously Hubbard Street Dance. He has also taught and set work at many other prestigious institutions including Beloit College, Western Michigan University, and is a consistent Guest Teaching Artist at the University of Chicago. He has continued to develop his passions & artistry delving deeper into acting, voice over, music production, song writing & recording. More recently playing the character Basilio in the Hip-Hopera titled The Rosina Project, a creative collaboration between BraveSoul Movement & The Chicago Fringe Opera, being cast as a character in an episode of Fox/Disney television series The Big Leap, as well as a Voice Over Actor for characters Hu Yi, Du Yi & Lu Yi in the upcoming fanimated series titled Rise of the Last Dragon.

Joerael Numina

Internationally acclaimed, Santa Fe-based artist activator Joerael Numina (b. 1980, San Angelo, Texas), has been dedicated to creating art that inspires awareness. Joerael is an activator, muralist, portrait artist, visual artist, tattoo artist and frequent lecturer.

A visionary disruptor and art entrepreneur, Joerael is the founder of  Mobilize Walls, he was the first artist in residence at the Santa Fe Institute, and was recently commissioned by Sky Railway to paint an exterior mural on a train consist. 
A self-taught artist, Joerael’s fascination with decoding art came to the fore when watching the fall of the Berlin Wall on his television set as a nine-year-old boy—fully captivated by the graffiti, letters and names of the wall.
